The Metal Fitter will be responsible to provide hands on support to the metal fitting department by ensuring that parts conform to customer specifications while maintaining proper fit and function. The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Identifying parts based upon work orders.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
- Ability to roll, bend and shape, sheet, bar and tube metal components to specifications using rolling machines and handheld tools
- Ability to drill, tap and counter sink to required specifications.
- Ability to assemble product using various handheld power tools.
- Ability to straighten materials to specifications.
- Determining the best method to manipulate parts to meet customer requirements.
THE SKILLSET:
- 5-7 years’ experience in metal fitting, specializing in rolling and bending sheet, bar and tube components.
- Proven experience reading and interpreting shop drawings.
- General understanding of various types of metals.
- Experience within a store fixture manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A positive attitude toward teamwork and strong relational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Resourceful and a problem solver.
